Sprinkles
Sprinkles are a beloved and common food item that can be identified by children and adults alike. A pile of sprinkles are easily recognized in photographs and illustrations. What if the sprinkles are viewed individually? Without the group context or reference to scale the sprinkles become unrecognizable. Their role as a food item becomes ambiguous. I wanted to focus on the imperfections of each sprinkle. When rolling our scoop of ice cream in them, it’s hard to see sprinkles as more than uniform rods in about eight different colors. In separating individuals from the pack, you can see that they are all very unique and have their own personalities and subtle differences.
